Our desire is to involve as
many runners as possible, young and not so young, in promoting mental and physical
health through participation in one of the simplest exercises possible,
running. So, for those who have the running bug and for those who haven’t
yet, the events are as follows:
10km trail run – a chip timed event
5km trail run – a chip timed event
2km family fun run with fun run medal - BOOK ON THE DAY (£3 to enter)
There will be a bespoke blue bridge medal for finishers of the timed events.
Experienced or not, get your trainers on and give it a go!
Location and routes:
All events will start at on the school field: St Nicholas Catholic High School, Greenbank Lane, Hartford CW8 1JW. The 5km and 10km routes will follow Marshall’s Arm Nature Reserve to the River Weaver, the 5km will cross the Blue Bridge and return along the other side of the river, the 10km will continue to Vale Royal Locks before crossing and will return along the other side of the river. Both the 5km and 10km routes will return on Hunts Lock bridge.

The 2km fun run will be on the school field.
Participant information:
Minimum age of entry (per distance):
10km: 15 years on the day of the race
5km: 11 years on the day of the race
2km: all ages
Unfortunately, dogs are unable to join in any of the races.
Participants’ responsibility:
All participants should note, this is a mixed terrain run including grass, tow paths, trail paths and paved/tarmac areas. You will need suitable run clothing and footwear. It is the runner’s responsibility to ensure they are in sufficiently good health on the day to safely take part in the event and if in doubt, seek medical advice beforehand.
The route will be way-marked, but it is the runner’s responsibility to familiarise themselves with the route. Please see outline map. There will be marshals and first aiders on the course, and there will be water available at approximately half way round the 10km event and at the finish line for both timed events.
Timings:
5km: 9.00am
10km: 9.45am
2km: 11.00am
You can enter more than one event if you are over 18 and feeling energetic.

Rather than buy in one size cheap unisex t-shirts, we have partnered with a company to produce a bespoke River Run 2019 technical t-shirt for this event. It is a two-colour breathable fabric t-shirt with a River Run 2019 design developed from ideas put forward by three year 8 pupils at St Nicholas Catholic High School who all entered a competition.
If you would like to purchase a River Run 2019 t-shirt they are available in adult sizes (for both men and women) and children’s sizes too. They cost £9 for adults, £8 for children and are only available via pre-order.

We may be able to take your t-shirt order or on the day of River Run but it will be delivered afer the event.
